Jeremy Charles McCamic attended public schools and Linsly Military Institute in Wheeling and graduated from New Hampton School in New Hampton, New Hampshire.
He graduated from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in 1950 and was commissioned as a second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in May, 1951.
Jeremy completed the Basic School (9th SBC) at Quantico and Advanced Infantry training at Camp Joseph H. Pendleton.
He arrived in Korea in April 1952, as an infantry officer and served there until March, 1953. Jeremy was awarded three battle stars and a Letter of Commendation, Combat “V” and medal pendant authorized, for his service in Korea.
He returned to Ole Miss and was awarded his Master’s Degree in English in 1954.
Jeremy married a beautiful and wonderful Ole Miss graduate in August, 1954. He has 3 children and 5 grandchildren from this union.
In 1957, Jeremy graduated from The Law School at The University of Virginia and has practiced law in Wheeling ever since.
Jeremy was senior partner of the McCamic & McCamic law firm until 2002 when his son, Jay T. McCamic took over as senior partner and president of the firm.
Jeremy was elected Chairman of the Board of the Wheeling National Bank in 1971 and Chairman of the Board and CEO of the American Bancorporation in 1984. He held those offices until American Bancorporation merged with WesBanco, Inc. in 2002.
